To mark the 68th anniversary of the 1956 Revolution, the Embassy of Hungary in Tbilisi organised a comprehensive Hungarian Days programme of cultural events. The events were aimed at presenting Hungarian culture and traditions and further strengthening Hungarian-Georgian relations.

At the reception organised on the occasion of the national holiday, Ambassador Anna Sikó and Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili gave speeches and Demur Diasamidze, Hungary's new Honorary Consul in West Georgia, was inaugurated. The event was also an opportunity for Hungarian and local businesses to meet. Hungarian dishes such as goulash soup and Somló galuska, stew and pogácsa were served at the national reception, which were received with great enthusiasm by the guests.

As part of the programme, an exhibition of paintings by Hungarian artist Cedric Af Geiersstam was opened in the iArt Gallery, which attracted great interest from the local public. The event also offered a taste of Hungarian specialities and Jr. Béla Berki and his band entertained the audience with jazz music. In addition, Jr. Béla Berki and his band also performed a street flashmob show in Tbilisi, which was a great success with passers-by.

The series of events was made possible with the support of the Hungaricum Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary, the Agrármerketing Centrum, the Georgian representative office of Gedeon Richter Plc., which has significant local economic interests and the MeOut Group, to whom we would like to thank for their generous support and assistance.
