To mark the 68th anniversary of the 1956 Revolution, the Embassy of Hungary in Tbilisi and the Honorary Consulate of Hungary in Armenia organised a comprehensive Hungarian Days programme of cultural events. The events were aimed at presenting Hungarian culture and traditions and further strengthening Hungarian-Armenian relations.
At the reception on the occasion of the National Day, Ambassador Anna Sikó delivered a speech in appreciation of the relations between the two countries, followed by Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan, who also expressed his appreciation for the progress of bilateral relations. The reception also included the official inauguration of Honorary Consul Lusine Blurtsyan.
During the Hungarian Cultural Day at the Pedagogical University, Ambassador Anna Sikó gave a quick presentation about the similarities between Hungary and Armenia and the historical relationship between Hungary and the European Union, while language lecturer Dániel Gazdik gave a presentation on the importance of the Hungarian language and Hungarian culture. Gazdan Dazdik, Jr. Béla Berki and his band enriched the events with demanding performances that captivated the audience. The street flashmob in Yerevan created a special atmosphere, where, in addition to Hungarian classical and folk music, the Armenian national anthem was played as well.
Gastronomic experiences were also on offer, with a series of accompanying programmes showcasing Hungarian flavours, further enhancing the quality of the events.
The series of events was made possible with the support of the Hungaricum Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary, the Agrármarkeint Centrum, the Armenian representation of Gedeon Richter Plc., which has significant local economic interests, and the MeOut Group, to whom we would like to thank for their generous support and assistance.
