During his visit, the Foreign Minister of Georgia, Mikheil Janelidze met the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, László Kövér, Hungarian Vice Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó.

Security challenges facing Europe and Georgia’s European integration were the main themes, which Georgian Foreign Minister focused on during a joint press conference.

During the meetings it was admitted that Hungary supports granting Georgia visa-free travel to the EU as soon as possible.

In the frames of the visit a Business Forum was held.  It was organized by the Georgian and Hungarian Foreign Ministries, the Hungarian National Trading House and the Georgian National Investment Agency. The Business Forum was attended both by Georgian businessmen and representatives of the business sector of Hungary.    

Special attention was paid to the ongoing co-operation in the area of education and Hungary’s contribution towards tuition fees of Georgian students. It was emphasized that direct Wizz Air flights promote people-to-people contacts and trade relations between the two countries.
